I have been with Next Door Title since November of 2018. Prior to taking over the management role here, I had my own mortgage closing business for 10 years. I built relationships with area title agencies who would contract me to come in and simply conduct the closing portion of the transaction. I felt very fortunate to be a small part of such a big experience for both buyers and sellers. When the Branch Manager position became available at Next Door Title, I was ready for a change and up for the challenge of re-building the branch from the ground up. Since then, we have built a rock-solid staff. We’ve dedicated countless hours on perfecting our processes and procedures to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for both our real estate agents as well as everyone at the closing table. I truly enjoy the title industry. There are always new things to learn and navigate through that keep us on our toes and I will never shy away from an opportunity to learn and grow.
I much prefer being outside and love to spend my downtime time traveling, hiking, running and spending time with people I love.
I started working at Next Door Title in January of 2019 and was instantly hooked! I love how our field is ever changing and encourages me to be in a constant state of cleverness. What we do here can sometimes be confusing and overwhelming for clients, so being your biggest cheerleader is my goal.
I pride myself on creating personable relationships with all our clients and supplying unmatched service at every step of the transaction. The most satisfying part of my job is creating a memorable atmosphere at the closing table and seeing smiling faces leave the office.
In my free time, you’ll find me completing arduous projects, socializing with friends, and making memories with my wonderful husband, daughter, and two pups.
Hi! I’m Melissa! I’m a licensed Escrow Officer at Next Door Title. I started my journey as a Real Estate Agent in 2017. After spending time in the closing room, I realized I had knowledge that could better connect a real estate agent and title agent to make for a smoother transaction.
Since I joined Next Door Title in 2019, I’ve learned many moving parts of transferring real property and that title work is so much more than what happens in the closing room. As an escrow officer that is thorough, detail oriented, and can think like a realtor, my goal is for a seamless transaction. I aim for the celebration in the closing room to be the most remembered piece of your title experience, not the behind-the-scenes title work to get there.
Like a lot of Michiganders, summer months are my favorite! I fill my free time with family, concerts, camping, and if the weather allows for it, paddle boarding.
If I don’t bump into you at a concert first, I look forward to celebrating with you in the closing room!
Prior to working in title, I had been in the health care field for more than 10 years. The most recent was at a mental health hospital. I was ready for something new! My sister is a real estate agent, and when she heard about an opening at Next Door Title, she was quick to refer me to apply. After my interview and turning my focus towards title and the real estate industry, I was interested and decided to make a huge career change. And I’m so thankful that I did!
I have been with Next Door Title since Valentine’s Day of 2020. At that time, I had no idea what type of turbulence the rest of 2020 would bring! It has definitely been interesting to watch how the real estate market has fluctuated through the changes. I enjoy working in title because it feels like there’s always something new to learn, and I love when I can apply something I’ve learned to my job. It’s also rewarding working in an environment with coworkers who are always striving to improve and make our business the best it can be. We make a great team!
Outside of work, I love to spend as much time as I can with my husband, our two dogs, and our friends and family. We try to spend as much time outside as possible, especially if it’s close to a body of water.
